Carried by porters in Nepal.

"I laughed out loud to hear Jane say she felt more at home in the middle of nowhere than in the aisles of her local supermarket!"

"Jane has a relaxed and understated style of presenting.  She doesn't just share her experiences, she shares her learning too!"

Current Talks

  • Scrapes and Dares: adventures with young children

Becoming a parent has not deterred Jane Yates from continuing to have adventures to remote and wild places around the world. Travelling with her two young children - and sometimes with mountaineer husband Simon Yates, they have trekked, sailed and cycled in South America, Asia, Africa and Europe. Jane will share amusing and poignant stories about their adventures and talk about the importance of taking off the cotton wool and letting children get into scrapes and dares.

  • Highs and Lows: cycling adventures with young children

Jane will talk about the small beginnings of carrying young children in trailers and tag-alongs to enabling children to become independent cyclists. She will share her amusing stories of the highs and lows of cycling in Lithuania, France, Spain, Scottish Islands and most recently a completely independent cycle trip (when aged 6 and 8 years) from Italy to Slovenia following the 366km Drau River Cycle Route. This talk includes all action film footage - entertaining as it is... she won't be giving up her day job to be a film director!
