Untranslatable Words Project
In 2023, I carried out a small research project as part of my Culham St Gabriel's Leadership Programme. Inspired by the work of Dr Tim Lomas around unstranslatable words, I created a very simple 'tool for thinking' with the phrases old friends and mysterious strangers. Pupils from ages 7 to 14 used the phrases to playfully describe words they encounted in RE lessons.
I presented about my research at the Strictly RE Conference 2024 and wrote an article for the Professional Reflection section in the Spring 2024 RE Today magazine.
